Fulfilling Hiking Breakfasts

Instant oatmeal is one of the favorite hiking breakfast meals when backpacking. But why not add variety to your breakfast meals to increase the enjoyment you receive on your hike? Even plain oatmeal can be dressed up to add additional enjoyment at the start of your hiking day.

  1. Nice list…I eat a ton of porridge with honey and peanut butter anyway but didn’t think about taking it up with me to the trails. Plus I hate dishes, so Kudos to eliminating those 🙂

  3. I’ve always been a fan of toast myself with a big helping of peanut butter – it’s a great hiking breakfast if you can’t spare the water. I’ll have to try oatmeal but I usually don’t carry that big of a pot.

  4. I will definitely try out some of those recipes. It is good to diversify some time. And that just makes me want to go for a hike so bad. Soon enough I bet.
